What does it smell like there? seriously! -
This depends. My first day my nose was going crazy! There are good smells and very bad smells, and the beach and the sewer, and DELICIOUS food (you know they are some kind of starch, oil, and salt), stinky people too close on the metro smells, exhaust, laundry, smoke, me after a long day of sweating (yum!), books, wind. So many!
Are there any “ranches” or animals in pastures that you can see?
Not as of yet, but I have seen lots of stray cats. And a dead bird. Actually, lots of living birds too.
Are there any flowers blooming or is it too hot?
Yes! We drove by fields of sunflowers the other day, turning toward the sun. Beautiful!
Do the kids go to summer school?
There seem to be lots of summer camps that I noticed when in Barcelona, but near the beach there are TONS of children with their families.
Do you hear any music or town bells?
So much music, from peoples apartments, from their cars, etc. And on the beaches starting this Friday night there will be Jazz concerts. I have experienced a few church bells marking the time, but not an everyday thing.

That is the coolest thing ever. For me!
Great posts, great photos. All the differences in the posts, your natural story-telling ability, the photos you’ve chosen (LOVE “outside looking in”)…it all works. Thanks for helping us re-create our own experiences and re-live them through your younger, fresher eyes. I also get your dissatisfaction with forced-march sight-seeing, even when it’s relevant that you did it that way…that ain’t your natural style…but do you remember Amy and you in Florence, underneath the statue of David, asking if you “really had to see more Jesus art?”…and if you do remember that, than that’s why you do it again now, because, dislike for the process aside, these are the memories you’ll want down the road. Love ya bunches…keep the cards ‘n letters comin’!
